View ALL 12 swatches of the NYX Lid Lingerie eye tint collection, in my beauty review with my honest opinion and why I stopped using them. Read until the end of my article to find out the potentially toxic ingredient in them that led me to stop using it.
NYX LID LINGERIE
I will begin my updated 2018 NYX Lid Lingerie review with a little general info. As I have mentioned, there are 12 shades. Some are light and some are dark. All have a rich consistency. The applicator makes it easy to use. They have a pearly finish. Below I will show you each photograph I took of them.

And because I really really dislike swatches made on the hand, (first of all the eye has a spherical surface that reflects light differently than the flatter inner arm), I made proper beauty swatches. You can thank me later.
NYX LID LINGERIE SWATCHES
I have tried all 12 shades and at first I like their texture (almost mousse like). The shades were nice, but some of the nude ones resembled very much so purchasing all shades wouldn’t be a clever idea. Even if they are called eye tints, they are not sheer or too liquidy. They can be removed easily with micellar water. However, going beyond my first impressions, I started to like them less and less. Read below why.
NYX LID LINGERIE REVIEW
Even if at first I did like them a lot, I noticed a few things which led me to stop using and actually throwing these in the garbage:
- the more I used them, the more a chemical smell was developing in them
- even if they were freshly opened for a few weeks, my eyes started to get itchy when using them
- this led me to read the ingredients and I discovered that it contains Phenoxyethanol (Fragrance, Preservative), which is potentially toxic & cancerigen and that might explain the chemical smell and my itchy eyes. The fact that Japan has banned its use in all cosmetics says a lot
Therefore, do yourself a favour and buy a natural eye shadow. I recommend this 100% natural one from https://amzn.to/2zOqxvx as it is also vegan and cruelty free.
